Why we built this.
Sofia Reyes spent three years as a revenue cycle operations lead at a Boston-area academic medical group. Every day, she watched talented physicians leave the office at 8pm, still writing notes. Every week, the PA queue grew longer. In one particularly brutal quarter, she processed 800 denial appeals by hand — each one requiring a chart review, a narrative letter, and a fax to a payer's appeals department.
The tools available were designed for billing departments, not for clinical workflows. The dictation platforms recorded audio but did nothing with it. The PA software required manual data entry from the chart. None of them could listen to an encounter, understand what was clinically relevant, and connect that directly to the payer's medical necessity criteria for that specific CPT code.
She called Daniel Park — who had been building NLP pipelines for clinical trial data extraction at a Cambridge biotech — and described what she had witnessed. Within two months, the first version of Prioriq was running in a 3-physician orthopedic practice in Boston. The results were immediate: PA packets that used to take 45 minutes per submission — chart review, narrative documentation, payer portal entry — were going out in under 5 minutes. The physician never knew a PA had been filed until the approval came back.
The problem isn't that physicians don't document well. The problem is that nobody built a system that connects what they document to what payers actually need.

Spent five years building NLP pipelines for clinical trial data extraction at a Cambridge-based CRO — work that required deep fluency in HL7 FHIR, ICD-10 coding logic, and structured clinical data. He designed Prioriq's ambient capture and note structuring pipeline from the ground up, treating it as a clinical informatics problem rather than a transcription problem.
Spent six years as practice administrator at a 12-physician cardiology group in the Greater Boston area — where he managed payer contracts, PA workflows, and the daily friction between clinical staff and insurance requirements. He joined Prioriq to ensure the product actually fits how specialty clinics operate, not how software engineers imagine they operate.
Full-stack engineer with background in HIPAA-compliant cloud architecture and real-time audio processing. Previously built the core EHR sync layer at a digital health startup — writing the FHIR integration code that connected clinical documentation to downstream revenue cycle systems. At Prioriq she owns the infrastructure that makes the entire encounter-to-PA pipeline run without interruption.

Closed $100K angel round to expand the payer PA criteria library to 12 major networks and begin development of the multi-site health system deployment layer. Currently onboarding specialty clinics in Boston and the Northeast.
